In Maryland, an estate is administered in the county where the deceased person had his or her domicile (residence). The Orphan's Court, located in each county and Baltimore City has limited jurisdiction over the estate of the deceased person. The Orphan's Court hears cases where there is a dispute in the validity of a will or transfer of property or other legal issue may arise.
