What happens to my driving privileges as a result of a citation for DWI/DUI?
As a Maryland licensed driver who is issued a citation for drinking while driving (DWI) or driving under the influence (DUI), you must address several legal consequences before getting exercising your driving privileges again. If your driving privileges are suspended you can usually request a restricted license that will allow you to drive under certain constraints such as only to and from work.
DUI charge applies to a person whose alchol content is 0.08 or higher while a DWI offense generally is issued to a BAC lower than 0.08.
Make sure that you appear at your court hearing. Otherwise, the judge may enter a warrant for your failure to appear.
